These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of skincaresplit.com (the "Site") and your purchase of products from Skincare Split Samples Inc. ("Skincare Split", "we", "us"). By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

Who we are

Skincare Split is an independent decant shop. We purchase genuine, full-size skincare products at retail and hand-repackage ("decant") them into smaller sample sizes. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the brands whose products we sample. All trademarks, brand names, and logos are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the products being sampled.

Our products

  • Authenticity: every sample is decanted from a genuine product purchased through retail channels.
  • Repackaging: samples are decanted by hand into new, clean containers. Because products are transferred out of their original sealed packaging, the manufacturer's warranty and tamper seal do not apply. Samples are best used within 6 months of receipt and stored away from heat and direct sunlight.
  • Ingredients: we publish the full ingredient (INCI) list for every product and update these lists regularly. However, manufacturers can change formulations at any time without notice, and batches in circulation may differ. While we make reasonable efforts to keep our lists current, we cannot guarantee that the ingredient list shown on the Site matches the exact batch in your sample. The ingredient list on the manufacturer's current packaging always takes precedence. If you have allergies or sensitivities, review the manufacturer's current list before use.
  • Not medical advice: product descriptions, quiz results, and routine recommendations are for general informational purposes only and are not medical advice. Skincare results vary. Always patch-test new products on a small area of skin and discontinue use if irritation occurs. Consult a healthcare professional for skin conditions or concerns.

Orders and pricing

  • All prices are in US dollars unless stated otherwise.
  • We may refuse or cancel any order, including for suspected fraud, stock or pricing errors. If we cancel your order, you will receive a full refund.
  • Occasional typographical or pricing errors may occur; we reserve the right to correct them, including after an order is placed, in which case you may cancel for a full refund.

Returns and refunds

Because our products are personal-care items decanted to order, all sales are final, except for orders that arrive damaged or are lost in transit. See our Refund Policy for details and how to make a claim.

Shipping

Shipping timelines, rates, and customs handling are described in our Shipping Policy. Risk of loss passes to you upon delivery to the address you provided; please make sure your shipping address is accurate.

Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your account and for keeping access to your email secure. We may suspend accounts used for fraud or abuse.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skincare Split's total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the Site or purchase of products is limited to the amount you paid for the product(s) giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including allergic or adverse skin reactions where the product was manufactured by a third party and used other than in accordance with its directions. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection law.

Intellectual property

Site content we created (text, layout, photographs of our samples, the skin quiz) belongs to Skincare Split Samples Inc. Brand names and product imagery belong to their respective owners.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to proceed in your local jurisdiction.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on the Site at the time of your order applies to that order.
